The Wailers Hit the Track

The return of Del Mar Racetrack's Bing Crosby Season brings the Wailers to town

With the return of fall comes Del Mar Racetrack's Bing Crosby Season -- a month of horse racing, live music, and more fun events than you can shake a stick at. And while opening day kicks off Friday, Nov. 8, with the "Uncorked: Derby Days Wine Fest" (featuring more than 150 wines and Champagnes from around the world, food trucks, music and more), it's not the only festivity worth looking forward to.

On Saturday, Nov. 16, legendary group the Wailers headline the big Seaside Stage with some of the best and most beloved roots-reggae music on the planet. The group continues to carry on Bob Marley's legacy and has performed in front of millions worldwide since the icon's untimely death in 1981. Tickets are available here.

Also upcoming: Nov. 16 is College Day where all college students can enjoy free track admission, drink specials and DJs (before the Wailers perform); on Sunday, Nov. 17, guests can partake in Taste of the Turf Club, which features exclusive meals curated by famed San Diego chef Brian Malarkey of Herb & Wood; Del Mar's Craft Beer Festival takes over on Nov. 23 with more than 100 samples of local and international craft brews; and Harry Potter fans can flock to the Wizards Fair on the final weekend of the season (Nov. 30) for costumes, "wizard-rock" bands, DJ Dumbledore and more.

Each concert takes place shortly after the final race of the day and they are free to all Del Mar Racetrack patrons who've entered the grounds before the final race starts (otherwise concert admission is $30).
