I've had the good fortune of seeing Tegan and Sara live a few times, and they always give an impassioned performance to their fans. I've seen them soundcheck extra early during the day, so they'd have enough hours before their shows for meet and greets, taking the time to talk and hug and give full attention to every fan, one at a time. Tonight, the twins put on a new kind of show where they'll perform both classics and also songs from their new album, which is really newly recorded versions of songs they wrote in their teens and discovered on an old cassette. They also released a book, which is included in the ticket price for the Balboa Theatre show, and they'll be sharing stories from their youth. Sounds like an incredible experience and one that fans won't soon forget. Around town, Canadain electronic rock band Twrp return to the Casbah, Swell Spells headline Soda Bar and local mods the Bassics take on Monday night at Bar Pink.
