Some very excited San Diego music fans got news Thursday via BandsInTown.com that Radiohead were playing the Irenic, but it was not to be.
An email sent by BandsInTown stated that a show by British alt-rock gods on June 14 had been just announced, but their excitement was short-lived, though.
A quick look at Radiohead’s web site turned up a show in England on the same date by Jonny the LCO Soloists, a side-project featuring the band’s guitarist, Jonny Greenwood. Further investigation yielded more information: The kids at San Diego’s School of Rock were putting on a Radiohead covers show at the Irenic on June 14.
We’re sorry to admit that more than one SoundDiego staffer was among those “very excited San Diego music fans.”
