Sounds Like San Diego: Oct. 1

As we roll into the weekend, your Thursday night is jam-packed with serious talent. At the Belly Up, electro-clash nasty girl Peaches drops in for her first show in town in ages, joined by U.S. Girls for a full-on dance party. Meanwhile, the band that was selected to open The Who's tour just a couple years ago, Vintage Trouble, appears at the Irenic. As with all Irenic shows, doors are at 7 p.m. with a 10 p.m. curfew, so you can still be a responsible adult and catch the show and be home in time for the 11 o'clock news. All my indie-rock friends can't stop talking about Empress Of at Soda Bar, and Aterciopelados play their dreamy tunes --- do we call it indie en Espanol? -- at House of Blues. Fans of Enon will appreciate a band featuring two former members, Crooks on Tape, who appear at the Casbah, and if you're looking for a great freebie show, Oh, Spirit! are at Sycamore Den.
