San Diego is kicking into overdrive for Pride Weekend. There are tons of events associated with Pride, including options in the live-music scene. Many of us are really excited for the return of Dessa, who's part of the Doomtree Collective. This artist returns to the Casbah with Open Mike Eagle and locals Okapi Sun to kick off the dance party. Over at the Whistlestop, our good friend Robin Roth celebrates six years of Pussy Galore, while Soda Bar hosts the Heavy Guilt. I've heard great things about Metalachi, a band that takes metal songs and adds a mariachi twist to them; they're performing at Brick By Brick. My winner for the night just might be at the Void, because I grew quite fond of Incan Abraham at Sunset Sessions a few years back. That's a lot to take in, but let's just say that you should get out on Friday because just about anywhere you go is guaranteed to be a worthwhile party.
