Sounds Like San Diego: Jan. 13

Seventies/eighties' rock star Midge Ure headlines a Casbah show on Tuesday

Tuesday is sprinkled with legends and future legends as Midge Ure performs at the Casbah the same night you can see the Wood Brothers at Belly Up. For fans of Visage, Thin Lizzy or Ultravox, Midge Ure needs no introduction. For those of us not in our music prime in the late '70s and early '80s, he's the guy who gathered up every major music star in 1984 to perform a song he wrote called "Do They Know It's Christmas?," which is played as much these days as it was back then. Meanwhile, in Solana Beach, the Wood Brothers have been making themselves known slowly but steadily at every major festival in the country, and to see them here will certainly be special. Still, there's Hibou at Soda Bar, and the Surefire Soul Ensemble continues their residency at the Hideout.
