For SoundDiego LIVE XII on June 30, we’re making a return trip to the House of Blues, but this time we’re changing colors.
Guest List Is Now FULL!
This year we’re going subterranean to the lush Delta Room for loud sets by local anthem rockers Republic of Letters, and a pair of performances programmed by blogger Quan Vu of SDRaps.com, who signed up hip-hoppers Black Resume and Parker & the Numberman. HOB and Tailgate Beer will help keep things interested with a hosted happy hour of appetizers and craft brew. Special bonus this time: 91X DJ Robin Roth will host our bash.
“Black Resume gets people excited,” Vu wrote to us about the show. “Their music is full of danceable, West Coast-tinged club bangers. They perform with high energy, and from what I've seen, they've been able to infect crowds with that same energy.” (Check out Black Resume performing at 4th & B.)
“Parker & the Numberman offer this altogether different experience in both their music and performance,” Vu added. “It's all very loose, like they're constantly shuffling through new ideas for the sake of experimentation. It's fun to watch and see where they might go next.”
Republic of Letters add a third aural dimension to the night, with their Brit-pop-influenced alt rock. Led by charismatic Chris Venti, who shares a stage with brother Nick, Adrian Thorstense and Martin Niwinski, the band has developed a loyal local following who love their live shows as much as their recent release, Stories (take a look here). And, yes, they are even better looking in person.
This one’s gonna be tight -- with a limited guest list -- so you better hurry on up and register now!
