PD: Armed Robber Wore ‘Bloody Clown Face' Mask

The masked man robbed a 7-Eleven store in La Mesa while wearing the creepy Halloween gear

Police are searching for a man who allegedly wore a “bloody clown face” mask during an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven in San Diego’s La Mesa area.

According to police, the Halloween-themed heist happened just after 4:30 a.m. Thursday at a 7-Eleven store located at 5746 Amaya Drive.

The suspect walked into the convenience store wearing what La Mesa police describe as a “Halloween mask of a bloody clown face” and pointed a handgun and mace at the clerk.

The man allegedly ordered the clerk to open the cash register and get on the ground. The suspect then took some cash, cigarettes and lottery tickets before fleeing the scene on foot in an unknown direction, police said.

The clerk was not injured in the robbery.

According to investigators, the masked man is described as Caucasian, between 30 and 35 years old, approximately 5-foot-10 with a medium build. He was wearing a dark-blue hooded sweatshirt, jeans, black gloves and black and white shoes during the robbery, as well as the frightening clown mask.

Police say they do not have surveillance video of the incident available at this time.

The case is under investigation. Anyone with information should reach out to the La Mesa Police Department or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-TIPS.
