You Can Help Make a Video Game Museum Happen

The Bay Area is home to all sorts of museums. You can visit the usual big city spots like the SFMOMA for all your art needs, or the California Academy of Sciences if you want to see old dinosaur bones.

Then there's the Tech Museum in San Jose, which is full of, well, tech. If you want to see the weirder things, stop by the Musee Mecanique to play old mechanical games, or Burlingame's own Pez Museum, which is not much bigger than a flower shop and located in a strip mall.

Make way for one more.

The Museum of Art and Digital Entertainment (MADE) is looking for donations to build a Video Game Museum.

MADE needs to raise $25,000 to secure a space near BART, which would allow the museum to stay open for six months to initially. Additional funds would go to keeping the space open longer.

Apart from displaying old video games, the museum would also be a place for LAN parties, demo events and artist talks.

Be sure to stop by the MADE website where you can find out more information, and donate to the cause.
