Tough Sledding for Chargers in December

After finishing off the month of November with a game at Baltimore the Chargers return to Qualcomm Stadium in what should be a demanding final month of football.

December begins with match-ups against a pair of  AFC heavyweights. The Bolts face New England on Football Night in America December 7th at 5:30 pm here on NBC7. It gets no easier in week 15. Peyton Manning and the defending AFC champs roll in to town, the Chargers final home game of the season. In week 16 the Bolts head up to San Francisco to play the Niners on Saturday. They finish off the regular season in Kansas City on December 28th.

Quarterback Philip Rivers knows it won't be easy, "That whole stretch is against a cluster of teams that have won a lot of football games. That will be a tough finish, but that is when you need to be playing your best."

Interestingly enough the Chargers open the season Monday, September 8th in Arizona. The Bolts should be familiar with their opponent. They host the Cardinals in the last pre-season game, just eleven days prior to that Monday night match-up.

After Arizona, the Chargers host the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks. Then they head to Buffalo in week 3, which is much better than facing the Bills on the road in December.

The Chargers first division game isn't until week 6 when they travel to Oakland.
