Some of the biggest names in figure skating kept the chill off at a fundraiser at the Iceoplex in North County.
National figure skating champion Nick LaRoche was on hand for the event that supported Rady Children's Hospital. Rink coaches Colleen Mickey and Lexie Fernandez organized the event.
"We hold this event every year -- it's become very popular -- and this year we decided to support the Rady center," Fernandez said. "They are a big part of our community, and the rest of the proceeds will help continue the youth skating programs at the Iceoplex."
Regional solo champ Beatrice Liang, and pairs champions Alex Merritt and Lindsay Davis were among the 165 performers on hand for the big show in Escondido on Sunday night.
