San Diego State Football Closes Regular Season in Record Setting Fashion

San Diego State football beat New Mexico 35-10 at SDCCU Stadium to finish the regular season with a 10-2 record.  It's the 3rd straight season, the Aztecs have won ten or more games.

Aztecs running back Rashaad Penny rushed for 203 yards and 2 TD's, pushing his season total to 2,027 yards rushing.  The Aztecs are the first team in FBS history to have different players rush for 2,000 yards in back to back to seasons.  Last year, SDSU running back Donnel Pumphrey rushed for 2,133 yards. 

Penny has the bowl game to try and pass Pumphrey's total, San Diego State does not yet know which bowl game it will be playing in.

San Diego State Quarterback Christian Champman threw 2 TD's and Penny's backup, Juwan Washington had a 60 yard TD run in the 4th quarter to round out the scoring for the Aztecs.

San Diego State finishes the regular season 10-2 overall, and 6-2 in the Mountain West Conference.

The 19 seniors on San Diego State are part of most successful run in school history. In the last four seasons, the Aztecs have won two Mountain West championships, played in four bowl games, and posted a 47-17 record.
