Puck Headlines: Dangers of Milan Lucic's thunderous rhinoblasts

Here are your Evening Puck Headlines and Previews: A glorious collection of news and views collected from the greatest blogosphere in sports and the few, the proud, the mainstream hockey media.

Preview: Boston Bruins at Philadelphia Flyers (7 p.m. EST; TV: NESN, CSP). So the only other time Milan Lucic played in Philly, he accidently slammed nose-first into the boards and his nose bled "for the better part of three days." From Bruins Blog, here's more about Cheech than we ever wanted to know: "A legendary snorer, even before he broke his nose, Lucic still rooms alone on roadtrips, while the majority of his teammates share hotel digs. But Lucic was assigned a single room less than two weeks after making the varsity, his roomates complaining that they couldn't sleep because of his thunderous rhinoblasts." Uh ... yuck?

• Brooks Group of Pittsburgh is buying the Philadelphia Phantoms, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, from Comcast-Spectacor. The team could be on the move to Allentown, where they're closing all the factories down ... but out in Bethlehem they're killing time, filling out forms and standing in line. [Morning Call]

Preview: Tampa Bay Lightning at Pittsburgh Penguins (7:30 p.m. EST; TV: SUN, FSPI ). Vincent Lecavalier fought Tim Jackman of the Islanders the other day, and the Bolts didn't respond, which really cheesed off GM Brian Lawton: "I was disappointed with many of the player reactions not to respond to that. personally, it hurt me. I think it hurt or fans and I think it hurt our coaches. It wasn't a good thing." Satan is a healthy scratch. Gary Roberts is in for the Bolts.

• "Jussi Jokinen was put on waivers and come Thursday likely will no longer be with the Lightning." Clearly, someone needs a healthy scratch who's wicked good at the shootout. [Lightning Strikes]

Preview: Toronto Maple Leafs at Buffalo Sabres (7:30 p.m. EST; TV: TSN, NHLN). Sabres defenseman Teppo Numminen is back tonight. Buffalo finishes a six-game road trip, gets back in town yesterday afternoon from Anaheim and then has to play tonight. Nice schedule you got there, NHL.

• The Edmonton Oilers purchase the Edmonton Cracker-Cats minor league baseball team, and for some reason intend to change the name. [CBC Sports]

• The Anaheim Ducks acquired forward Mike Brown from the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday in exchange for defenseman Nathan McIver. We totally read that as Norm MacIver. [Ducks]

Actually, we're all busy counting how many points ahead of the Bruins the Capitals would now be if Jose didn't suck royally for the first several weeks of the season. [Japers Rink]

• Things to do while waiting to watch West Coast games if you're a Hurricanes fan. [Carolina on Ice]
