• The Ottawa Senators have traded Dean McAmmond and the San Jose Sharks' 2009 first-round draft pick to the New York Islanders for Mike Comrie and Chris Campoli. Depsite being, you know, down 13 points and one Daniel Alfredsson from the postseason. Good on the Isles getting another first rounder. The real stunner here is Campoli, thought in the past to be a cornerstone defenseman for the Islanders but a player that Chris Botta writes wanted a change of scenery and may have requested a trade. Comrie is a former Senator and a UFA this summer. The trade now gives Ottawa both Hilary Duff and Carrie Underwood in the celebrity puck bunny arms race, which is like the hottie equivalent of Alfie and Heatley in their primes. [Globe & Mail]
Preview: Anaheim Ducks at Detroit Red Wings (7:30 p.m. EST; TV: FSPT, FSD). In case you haven't heard the deliciously awkward news from tonight's Wings game: "Chris Pronger will be playing his 1,000th game tonight and may become the first player in NHL history to be soundly booed when the achievement is recognized tonight. The Red Wings have indicated they will pay tribute to the milestone during the first TV timeout (and please tell me the FSN guys replay the moment when they come back from commercial)." Yes, please.
Preview: Tampa Bay Lightning at Carolina Hurricanes (7 p.m. EST; TV: SUN, FSS, Yahoo! Sports). The Hurricanes are seeking their first win at home this month, but have pretty much owned the Bolts this season (who hasn't?). Meanwhile, Canes Country has some good news and scary details from the Albany River Rats bus crash.

Preview: Colorado Avalanche at Washington Capitals (7 p.m. EST; TV: ALT2, CSN). Things are going pretty well for the Caps right, which makes you wonder why Jose Theodore decided to flap his yap about his days with the Avalanche the day before he's facing them.
Seriously, there aren't tickets available for Harry Howell/Andy Bathgate night, are there? [Scotty Hockey]
