Puck Daddy Hockey Rumors Live Chat

(Apologies for the sporadic posting this morning; dealing with a bit of family emergency.)

Despite the denials from the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Vincent Lecavalier trade rumors remain the story du jour for most of the mainstream hockey media.

TSN's Darren Dreger posted a column last night that indicated that Bolts management was still debating a trade because "huge sponsorship dollars could be lost if Lecavalier, the face of the franchise is moved out, not to mention a predicted drop in ticket sales."

Ryan Dixon of The Hockey News believes that the Montreal Canadiens should pounce on Vinny if the current rumored deal is on the table: "Show me the deal-breaker there and I'll show you a Habs fan who drastically over-values the team's players. None of those names carry the weight of Mike Komisarek or Carey Price, both of whom were lumped into trade speculation during another round of Lecavalier rumors last spring."

We've already opined twice on the Lecavalier scuttlebutt. Time to bring in the heavy hitters to separate the nonsense from the truth. Please join Lyle "Spector" Richardson of Fox Sports and David "Dave" Pagnotta of The Fourth Period for our hockey rumors and scuttlebutt live chat at 1 p.m. EST. We'll talk about all the latest whispers around the NHL, and then cut the tension with bad jokes. Really, it's a half hour well-spent.
