From the Dept. of Self-Congratulatory Nonsense: A couple of items on a busy morning, including party time ...
Please join your hockey blogging buddies from Puck Daddy (Yahoo! Sports) and Japers' Rink (SB Nation) for a 2009 NHL Awards viewing party on Thursday, June 18 at Bailey's Pub and Grille, located in the Ballston Commons Mall in Arlington, Va. We're taking over a room with a bar and a bunch of televisions, watching what happens when a bunch of Canadians and Eastern Europeans invade Las Vegas. (Answer: sunburn.)
We'll start getting in the spirit of things at 6 p.m., which is the tail end of happy hour; Bailey's has 24 oz. brews for $4 all night. There's a menu of bar chow and restaurant food as well. Eat, drink, be merry ... if nothing else, it's a chance to celebrate a fantastic NHL season with likeminded puckheads from the DC area.
Bailey's is located at 233 Wilson Blvd. in Arlington (703-465-1300). There's plenty of garage parking, and it's within walking distance of the Ballston-MU (Orange Line) Metro. And we're bloggers in a bar: It's not going to be a black tie affair.
Again: NHL Awards viewing hootenanny, Thursday, June 18 at Bailey's Pub and Grille, located in the Ballston Commons Mall in Arlington, Va. beginning at 6 p.m. Thanks again for your support this season.

Also, I'm proud to be a panelist at Blogs With Balls this Saturday at Stout (133 W 33rd St.) in New York. The event begins at 11 a.m.; I'm on an afternoon chat called "Make the Leap, Make it Your Job" about (I assume) professional base-jumping, featuring Jason McIntyre of The Big Lead; my old AOL FanHouse buddy John Ness of NBC; Matt Cerrone of Metsblog; and Spencer Hall of Everyday Should Be Saturday. If you're there,
holla atcha boy buy me a beer say hello.
