Padres Kiss Their Sisters

Tie the Mariners 4-4 in Peoria exhibition

Ties and baseball go together about as well as peanut butter and salmon.  But, in the Cactus League ties are a necessary evil.  The Padres and Mariners called their exhibition game after 10 innings with the score tied 4-4.  This early in the season, nobody wants to overextend the arms of any pitchers and risk injury.

Chris Young started and threw one perfect inning for the Padres.  The guy he was throwing to, new catcher Henry Blanco, was the star of the day.  Blanco went 2-2 with a home run and 2 RBI.  He was signed in the off-season to back up Nick Hundley.

The Padres play their first road game of the Spring against the Indians in Goodyear on Friday.
