Padres End Winning Streak

Padres ended their winning streak, losing to the Diamondbacks 6-5.

On Monday, the Padres rallied from 6 runs down to beat the D-Backs. It was so much fun, they tried to do it again Tuesday. Kevin Correia tried to extend the team’s winning streak to 11 but it was not meant to be.

In the sixth inning, Mark Reynolds rapped one out to right field, a 2-run shot. Arizona scored the first 6 runs of the game.

But once again, when the eighth inning rolled around, things got nutty.

Esmerling Vasquez will receive a bad performance review. With bases loaded, he hit Kevin Kouzmanoff to bring in a run. Vasquez faced 3 batters, all of them reached base and 2 scored, he'll be filling out TPS reports for the next week.

So in came Juan Gutierrez. Chase Headley greeted him with a single to score another run. Make it 6-3. They got two more, so it all came down to Kooz. With two outs in the ninth and the tying run on base, Chris Young caught it at the track. The D-Backs win 6-5. The winning streak is over.

Jake Peavy tries to start another one Wednesday.
