The banged up Bolts were hard at work on Wednesday. Quarterback Philip Rivers, the AFC Offensive Player of the Week, was taking snaps and zipping balls to his receiving corps minus Keenan Allen. The second-year player sat out practice again after breaking his collarbone two weeks ago.
Center Chris Watt and running back Ryan Mathews also did not participate.
To get the team in the holiday spirit, Christmas music was blaring from the speakers at Chargers Park.
In his post-practice press conference head coach Mike McCoy wished everyone well, "Merry Christmas to our fans who gave us all the support at home this year. I know one thing we're looking for here in the Chargers organization is a big W this weekend."
The team is off Thursday and will have a light practice Friday morning before heading to Kansas City. Kickoff Sunday is set for 10:00 AM PST.
