Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Kobe Bryant rested his hyperextended knee for the regular-season opener, but Pau Gasol and Jordan Farmar picked up the slack with 13 and 12 points respectively, as the Lakers downed Charlotte, 88-77, in the preseason finale for the Bobcats.
Charlotte went winless during the preseason, but did get solid outings from its starting backcourt. Jason Richardson scored 12 points and Raymond Felton added 10 points, while Adam Morrison scored 13 off the bench. The Bobcats open their regular season on October 30 at Cleveland.
The Lakers will conclude their preseason schedule Friday night against Oklahoma City.
