Chargers GM: “I've Got to Do a Better Job”

Chargers general manager A.J. Smith says he's pleased with most areas of his team with one exception.

"I've got to do a better job in decision-making," Smith said.

Smith said he still wants running back LaDainian Tomlinson back.

"Talks are ongoing," added Smith.

On other news revealed Tuesday, the Chargers released guard Mike Goff, defensive tackle Igor Olshansky, linebacker Marques Harris and center Jeremy Newberry. They also tendered offers to wide receiver Malcom Floyd and defensive back Cletis Gordon, who are restricted free agents.

Smith challenged his entire team to get better.

"If they don't, they won't be Chargers for long," Smith said.

The GM said he is being realistic.

"Right now we're not good enough," added a very serious Smith.

Smith said he is working to get there.
