They're tall, talented, and very competitive.
"A lot of teams have the same talent we do. but we have so much drive and passion. we have so much fun on the court. you can tell just by watching us," according to outside hitter Natalie Haglund.
La Costa Canyon is not only top ranked in San Diego county, the Mavericks have spent a good portion of the season number one in the nation....playing an incredibly tough schedule.
"We play better when we play better teams. when we're on fire playing these better teams...running our offense, and we're doing things like we don't even know we can do," said junior setter Kendall Polan.
Head Coach Pat McDougall has had some terrific teams in his career, but calls this his most athletic.
"I think that sets us apart a little bit. we've had very, very good teams in the past. well coached teams......but we've got good athletes on this team," added McDougall.
Good athletes, who are confident every time they take the court. That's the reason the Mavericks of La Costa Canyon are 28-1 with the best yet to come.
