Mark Neely was hired Thursday as the play-by-play announcer for the Padres' telecasts on Channel 4 San Diego.
Neely, who signed a two-year contract, joins color analysts and former Padres players Mark Grant and Tony Gwynn.
Neely previously broadcast games for minor league teams in Boise, Springfield, Salem, Tulsa and Louisville. He replaces Matt Vasgersian, who left for the MLB Network.
