Thursday was the last day NFL teams could use the franchise tag and by the time it was all said and done, 14 players were slapped with the designation. One player who wasn't -- Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis -- is now set to hit free agency seven days from now.
Despite his advanced age (he'll be 34 when the '09 season begins), Lewis will draw interest from several teams around the league. After the Ravens, who say they'll match any offer Lewis might receive from other clubs, the Cowboys have been mentioned as the most popular destination. Another potential landing spot: the New York Jets.
