Aztecs Home Away From Home

The Aztecs don't usually enjoy playing at the Jenny Craig Pavillion, but they did on Friday night.  They turned USD's home floor into a real home court advantage, as they dominated Kansas State 70-52 to advance to the quarter-finals of the NIT.

What was just a two point game at the half, turned into a San Diego State rout.  They had balanced scoring, and played terrific defense in setting a school record with their 25th win.  The Aztecs also won a second post season game for the first time ever, and more importantly moved to within one victory of a trip to New york for the NIT semi finals.

Kyle Spain led the Aztecs with 16 points.  Billy White finished with 15, and point guard Richie Williams had 14.   Williams also played his most solid game of the season.

"The fans were great, and so were my team mates," said Williams. " They played with great energy in taking care of business, and setting us up for Wednesday."

The Aztecs will host the winner between St. Mary's and Davidson on Wednesday.  The game will be played on their real home floor at Cox Arena.
