Aztecs Ground Air Force

San Diego State's ninth straight win at home,  a dominating 65-34 win over Air Force, has left the Aztecs in a tie for first with Utah in the Mountain West Conference.

Head Coach Steve Fisher was worried about a letdown after the Aztecs won at UNLV earlier in the week.  His players obviously got the message.  They had this game well in hand by halftime leading 33-14 over the last place Falcons.

"I thought our defensive effort was outstanding," said Fisher.

The Aztecs had eleven steals, and guard Richie Williams led the way with four. San Diego State is now 17-5, 7-2 in conference play.  Billy White led the Aztecs with 15 points.

First place in the Mountain West will be at stake on Wednesday night, when the Aztecs play at Utah.
