An Instant Classic

Jets Survive Overtime, Beat Cassel, Patriots

It was an instant classic in FoxboroBrett Favre got in an old fashioned shootout with young Patriots Quarterback Matt Cassel and came out on top, again.

Brett got his Jets out to an 11 point halftime lead.  But in true clutch Patriot QB fashion, Cassel was game.  The career backup completed 30 of 51 passes for 400 yards and 3 touchdowns, two of which came in the fourth quarter.

Cassel wasn't given a chance in overtime, though, as Favre led his team on a 64 yard drive that led to Jay Feely's 34 yard game-winning field goal.  Favre was vintage, throwing for 258 yards and two scores.

The J-E-T-S now sit alone atop the AFC East.
