Zags Too Much For Toreros

It was a tough way for the University of San Diego to finish the regular season.  An upset of 17th ranked Gonzaga was possible, but not probable.

After having the lead early in the first half, the Toreros crumbled.  The Zags finished the half with an 18-3 run to lead by eight at the intermission 26-18.  They were never really in trouble after that in winning 58-47 to finish a perfect 14-0 in the West Coast Conference

The Toreros finish 6-8 in the WCC, and in fifth place.  Couple that with Santa Clara's overtime win over Portland, and USD doesn't get a bye in the upcoming conference tournament in Las Vegas.   They'll open up against Loyola-Marymount.

Matt Bouldin led Gonzaga with 15 points, and Michah Downs chipped in with 11.  The Bulldogs won't play again until a week from Sunday in the semi finals of the WCC Tournament in Las Vegas.
