Victorious Bolts Limp Home From Oakland

Chargers beat Raiders, 24-10

The Chargers were physically manhandled at times by the Raiders on Monday night -- they may have lost the battle but still won the game.

"We had a lot of guys go down and still won," wide receiver Vincent Jackson said. "That says a lot."

The most serious injury could be to center Nick Hardwick. He left Oakland with a boot on his left foot and leg. Rookie guard Luiz Vasquez left with a knee injury. LaDainian Tomlinson didn't play in the fourth quarter due to an ankle injury. Linebacker Antwan Applewhite went down with a hamstring.

"I don't think it's as bad as it looks," said Head Coach Norv Turner, who will know more later on Tuesday once the injured players are re-evaluated.

What did look bad for the Chargers, even in a victory, was an ineffective pass rush. Shawne Merriman was a nonfactor. They also had what seems to be a continuing problem in the secondary.

The Chargers were fortunate to beat the Raiders. They have a lot of work to do before Sunday's home opener with Baltimore.
