USPNT Leaves San Diego Champions

San Diego played host to some of the best soccer players in the world this week.

The U.S. Paralympic National Soccer Team hosted the 2018 Para 7-a-side Invitational at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center Thursday-Saturday.

The tournament consisted of three teams, the U.S., Canada, and Australia.

Team U.S.A. began play Thursday against Australia and quickly let it be known that they weren’t playing around. They won their opening match 8-0 with Chula Vista native David Garza scoring the final goal.

After a rest day Friday, they faced Canada in a match that would decide the tournament champion. Cameron DeLillo led the way for Team U.S.A. with two goals. They would win it 3-0 finishing the tournament without conceding a single goal.

The USPNT is getting ready for the 2018 IFCPF Copa America, which takes place October 12-21 in Natal, Brazil.
