UC Davis Takes Victory Over San Diego

USD football takes a hit

Josh Reese ran for two touchdowns and Randy Wright threw for two more to lead UC Davis to a 38-24 win over San Diego on Saturday night.

Reese, who rushed for 104 yards on 13 carries, scored on runs of 12 and 17 yards, the last giving the Aggies (1-2) a 28-10 lead early in the third quarter.

Wright threw touchdown passes of 38 yards to Dean Rogers and 22 yards to Stephen Dunstan. Wright finished 14 of 23 passing for 202 yards and two interceptions.

Running back Nick Aprile, operating out of the wildcat formation, hit Rogers with a 2-yard scoring pass in the fourth quarter.

San Diego (0-3) started the season with three straight losses for the first time since 1980.

Mason Mills had two TD passes, one of 5 yards to Jon Harris and a 3-yarder to Sean Ricucci. Sam Hoekstra threw a 44-yard touchdown pass to Godfrey Smith on a halfback pass.
