A year ago, the Toreros of USD upset Kentucky and then fell apart in losing to Marshall. They didn't have any problems Friday night with the Thundering Herd.
Senior center Gyno Pomare pured in twenty points, as the University of San Diego beat Marshall 80-70 at the Jenny Craig Pavillion. The victory pushed the Toreros over the .500 mark for the season at eight and seven.
USD had a 22 point lead at halftime, and had no trouble getting the win. Sophmore Rob Jones added 13 points.
The Toreros open West Coast Conference play next Friday night at the University of San Francisco.
