Toreros Sinking Fast

The thud the USD Toreros felt wasn't a flat tire on the bus ride back from Malibu on Saturday.  It was more how they felt as a team after losing to the Waves 57-52.

"We're just not playing good basketball," said head coach Bill Grier.

That's an understatement.   USD has lost six of their last seven games.  They were swept on this weekend roadtrip by Loyola Marymount, and Pepperdine; two teams that have combined for ten wins all season.

Rob Jones led the Toreros in scoring with 13 points.  Danny Brown chipped in 11.   The loss snapped a nine game winning streak for the Toreros against the Waves.

USD is now 13-13, 5-6 overall.  They've fallen into sixth place in the West Coast Conference, and play at St. Mary's on Thursday night.
