The Yankee Jeers, by Joe Torre

The hits just keep coming from erstwhile Yankee skipper Joe Torre.

While Alex "A-Fraud" Rodriguez is the biggest, most obvious target of Torre's new book, "The Yankee Years," the third basemen is hardly the lone victim.

Future Hall-of-Famers, fan favorites and legendary busts all get a working over, according to excerpts printed in The Daily News:

  • "Alex (Rodriguez), is all about the game. He needs the game. He needs all of those statistics. He needs every record imaginable. And he needs people to make a fuss over him."
  • "The difference between Kevin Brown and David Wells is that both make your life miserable, but David Wells meant to."
  • "The players all hated (Carl Paving). It was no secret."
  • "It was sad more than frustrating when we got (Randy Johnson), because I thought we finally had someone you could hook your wagon to, and that wasn't the case."

Stay tuned, folks, this could get worse before it gets better.
