Qualcomm Stadium is going to get very loud this Saturday.
Riders are in town for the AMA Supercross Lites race. Jake Weimer, 22, holds a 16-point edge in the championship standings and is looking to take advantage of the technical layout this weekend.
“The San Diego track is usually a little more technical than most,” Weimer said on the Supercross Web site. “That works to my advantage because it helps separate the riders. Plus I’m going down there with a little bit of motivation because I want to go win again. I’m going to go to San Diego and get what I want.”
It’s an all day event, with doors opening at 12:30 p.m. for practice and qualifying. The main event starts at 7 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased online and range from $10 to $30. Prices will go up by $5 on the day of the event.
The race in San Diego is the fifth of eight for the riders competing for the AMA Supercross Lites Western Region championship.
