Cathedral Catholic High knew Jose Altamirano was coming, but it didn't help the Dons stop him in the finals of the San Diego High Holiday Open boys soccer tournament at Balboa Stadium on Wednesday.
Behind the superstar midfielder, San Diego Southwest defeated Cathedral Catholic 3-2 in a rematch of last year's CIF San Diego Section Division III championship game that went to the Dons.
"He can beat anyone one-on-one," Cathedral Catholic head coach Bryan Wood told the North County Times. "He's equally tough with both feet. He's the best player I've seen in while."
