San Diego gets back on track with win over Vancouver

An expansion team making the playoffs in its inaugural season is an awfully impressive feat. The San Diego Seals are in a darn good spot to do just that.

The Seals beat the Vancouver Warriors 13-10 on Friday night at Pechanga Arena, snapping a 2-game losing skid to get them back over .500. They also solidified their spot in 2nd place in the Western Division and stayed within striking distance of first place Saskatchewan.

Rookie sensation Austin Staats scored four more goals and veteran Kyle Buchanan scored five to lead the San Diego offense. At the halfway point of their season the Seals are 5-4.

Next Saturday they head to Colorado, where they beat the Mammoth in the first game in franchise history. They're back at Pechanga Arena in two weeks against a fellow expansion team, the Philadelphia Wings.
