San Diego Sports is Les Misérables: Forbes

This probably isn't a shocker.

Forbes Magazine released this week its annual top-five list of America's most miserable sports cities, and low and behold, San Diego is ranked No. 5.

It is the city's second straight year with the ranking, which, in all honesty, provides little consequence other than affirming San Diego sports fans' right to complain.

Lamented by some as having a "championship curse," the city has a heart-wrenching history of flirting with titles only to fall short.

The magazine highlighted that tendency in San Diego's resume, which includes losing seven of eight championship games or series despite a 7-3 record in the semifinals.

In 93 professional seasons between the Chargers, Padres and vacated NBA teams Clippers and Rockets, the city has but one trophy, and great as it was, fans would rather not hang their hats on the Chargers totally creaming the Boston Patriots in the 1963 AFL Championship.

"Oh well," Forbes magazine wrote in its gallery. "Great zoo, and the weather is nice."

Sure is.
