Colorado Rocks Padres

The Padres winning streak is snapped at one after the Rockies take hill on Wednesday.

Aaron Cook pitched seven strong innings for his first win of the season and Todd Helton and Chris Iannetta each drove in three runs in the Colorado Rockies' 7-5 win over the San Diego Padres on Wednesday.

The Friars rallied for three in the seventh and two in the eighth, but it wasn't enough.

Cook (1-1) allowed three runs and five hits and struck out three in beating the Padres for the 12th time in 16 decisions. He also earned his 53rd career victory with the Rockies, tying Pedro Astacio for second on the team's list.

The win was his first since Aug. 29, 2008, at San Diego, ending an eight-start string in which he had gone 0-2 with six no-decisions.
