Rivers Ready for Rams

On Monday Chargers head coach Mike McCoy was on his own answering (or not answering) questions regarding the injury status of quarterback Philip Rivers.

Wednesday he was at the podium again after practice and didn't mince words when asked about his starting quarterback. "He looked great on the practice field today and will play on Sunday, " McCoy repeated three times to start his press conference.

But unlike Monday, Rivers spoke to the media and did his best to set the record straight, "I feel good. It's part of playing the position, but I feel as good as I could ask for at this point in the season."

Chest injury / full participation is how Rivers was listed on the official Wednesday practice report. "Shoot, if we told you every nick and knack we had it would be a long list, things you wouldn't care to hear about and things not worth reporting, that's for sure, " Rivers joked.

So it looks as though "rib-gate" is now in the rear view mirror. "It's nothing that is going to linger or cause me to miss any time, " Rivers added.

The Chargers (6-4)  face the Rams (4-6) at Qualcomm Stadium on Sunday.
