Reinforcements Arrive

Wednesday's practice at Chargers Park saw plenty of familiar faces hitting the field for the first time in weeks.

On the defensive side three linebackers were back to work. Manti Te'o, Melvin Ingram and Jerry Attaochu participated and are expected to play Sunday against the Raiders. They should be an immediate shot in the arm to an anemic pass rush. In their last two games the Chargers have not recorded a single sack.

Offensively, running back Ryan Mathews is back in the fold and should get a majority of carries out of the backfield. The combination of Mathews and rookie Branden Oliver is a potential one-two punch the offensive has been lacking all season.

Quarterback Philip Rivers is cautiously optimistic, "There's no question they make us a better football team, but it doesn't guarantee us that we are going to go out and play great. It is certainly nice to have them back."

Ingram, who hasn't played since the Bolts week two win over the Seahawks back in September, is ready to go. "We're just going to go out and play to the best of our ability and let the results take care of themselves," Ingram said after practice.
