Raiders Will Stay in Oakland – For Now

Raiders Agree To New Lease

Just like the Chargers, the Oakland Raiders are staying put in their current city.

For now.

For the 2016 Season, the Raiders will continue to play their home games at O.co Coliseum in Oakland.

City and county officials announced Thursday that this lease extension is for 2016 with options for 2017 and 2018. The Raiders also announced the agreement on their website.

The team's current lease was set to expire next Wednesday.

The Raiders have played in their current facility since 1995.

If the Chargers work out a stadium deal in San Diego and waive their option to relocate to LA, Raiders owner Mark Davis could relocate his team to Los Angeles and partner with Stan Kroenke and the Rams.

If that happens, the Silver and Black would be co-tenants of the new Inglewood stadium which is expected to be completed in 2019.

The Raiders have also been linked to San Diego (should the Chargers choose to bolt to LA after the 2016 season), San Antonio and Las Vegas as possible relocation cities.
