Raiders Hope to Beat the Heat in Tennessee

It's going to be like Christmas morning, roller derby, and a bachelor party all rolled into one. The 2010 NFL season finally kicks off Sunday morning, when the Oakland Raiders open the season in Nashville against the Tennessee Titans.

It's your long-awaited first look at new quarterback Jason Campbell in the silver and black. And it will be literally silver and black -- the Raiders will be wearing their black jerseys, as the Titans chose to wear white in the early-season Tennessee heat.

Campbell will not sweat the temperature issue.

"The last couple days of training camp, we had a couple of hot days," Campbell told the San Francisco Chronicle. "People were wishing for a couple of 100-degree days, and I think we saw a couple."

"I was born and raised in it," Said Campbell, a native of Mississippi. "You walk outside and sit on the porch, start sweating and lose five pounds in the two minutes. The quickest way to get on Nutri System is to go Mississippi or Alabama and get in the heat, and you'll drop pounds quickly."

You listening, JaMarcus Russell?

The Raiders' highly-touted top draft pick gets a stern test right off the bat. Rolando McClain, already a starting Raiders linebacker, faces the NFL's No. 1 running back in the Titans' Chris Johnson. Last season, Johnson became only the sixth running back ever to rush for 2,000 yards in an NFL season.  He has big plans for this season as well, setting a goal of 2,500 yards.

The Raiders are big underdogs in this one, with the Titans as 6.5-point favorites in the latest Vegas odds
