Pitcher Perfect for the Padres

Two former high school pitchers from San Diego were on the mound, as the Padres started a weekend series with the Reds -- Patrick Henry alum Aaron Harang for Cincinnati, and Kevin Correia for the Padres.

Adrian Gonzalez homered in his fifth straight game, Scott Hairston drove in the go-ahead run in a three-run seventh and the San Diego Padres beat the Cincinnati Reds 5-3 to snap a six-game losing streak.

Gonzalez hit a solo shot in the first inning off Aaron Harang (3-4), his major league-leading 15th homer. He has six homers in his five-game streak.

The Padres overcame a fielding miscue by right fielder Brian Giles that led to two runs and won for just the fifth time in 24 games.
