Padres Win Again

Padres rookie Jedd Gyorko had three hits including a 3-run homer in another Padres win over the Pirates. He picked the right night to shine as he had friends and family at PNC Park. Gyorko is from nearby Morgantown, West Virginia. Those who came to see him were glad they made the hour long trip.

After Gyorko's third inning blast, his 19th of the year, the Padres held on for the 5-2 win. The Friars have won ten of their last fourteen games.

Their all-time record at PNC Park, which opened in 2001, is a staggering 30-10. Eric Stults (9-13) got the win. All-Star Jeff Locke (10-6) took the loss.

Game three of the four game series is Wednesday night.
