Padres Win Again

The Padres got the go-ahead RBI single in the seventh from Chris Denorfia for their second win in a row over the visiting Giants. Denorfia also helped with his glove. He robbed Joaquin Arias of extra bases with a leaping catch in the right field corner in the second inning.

Nick Hundley continued swinging a hot bat. The catcher was 2-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Padres starter Robbie Erlin pitched into the sixth inning, but did not factor in the decision. He did get his first big league hit, an RBI single in the fifth that tied the game at two. Tim Stauffer pitched an inning and two-thirds for his third win of the season. Huston Street pitched the ninth inning to secure the 3-2 win. It was his 27th save of the year.

The Padres won it 3-2 and go for the series sweep Wednesday afternoon at Petco Park.
