Padres Home Opener Is Finally Here

Tuesday is opening day at Petco Park and there is a lot going on, including a block party which means thousands of people are getting ready to descend on East Village to kickoff the Padres 75th anniversary.

The block party is from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on J St. between 7th and 10th avenues. Local restaurants and food truck vendors will be serving up special game day cuisine, while Stone Brewery serves up cold ones in the beer garden.

The game starts promptly at 3:35 p.m. with an F-18 flyover. Artist Jason Mraz will sing the national anthem. San Diegan Aaron Harang will lead off for the Padres from the pitching mound.

If you want to get to the heart the party without getting stuck in traffic use public transportation. The Padres have listed every which way how to get to the party with minimal pain.
