Padres Notch Second Walk-Off Win of the Season

Reyes Homers in Third Consecutive Game

The San Diego Padres recorded their second walk-off win of the season with a 3-2 victory over the Miami Marlins Wednesday night at Petco Park.

Franmil Reyes became the second Friars rookie this season to hit a home run in three straight games behind Christina Villanueva. Reyes sent a screamer to right field in the fourth inning. His solo shot put the Padres on the board but they still trailed 2-1.

In the bottom of the ninth inning the Padres still trailed 2-1 and the bases were loaded for Hunter Renfroe. The Friars outfielder hit an RBI single to third base that brought Matt Szczur home. Thanks to a throwing error by Marlins third baseman Miguel Rojas, Padres infielder Freddy Galvis was able to score and seal the win.

The series finale is set for Thursday May 31, at 6:10 p.m. PST at Petco Park.
