Padres Lose Again In Atlanta

The Braves beat the Padres 6-1 on a pair of three run innings.

The Padres are seeing first hand why the Braves are 19-games over .500 and in contention in the NL East. Starter Edinson Volquez (7-9) got into trouble in both the 3rd and 4th innings, the big blow being Uggla's 3-run homer in the third, his 15th of the year.

Much like Tuesday's game, the Padres offense was barely existent. The Friars only run came in the third on Logan Forsythe's 3rd home run of the season. In the past two games the Padres have managed only one run on just eleven hits.

The Padres can salvage a split of the four game series with a win in Atlanta on Thursday. Jason Marquis is the Padres scheduled starter.
