Padres Fall to Rockies 3-2

Yesterday marked the 67th anniversary of the day Jackie Robinson broke baseball's color barrier. All players wore #42 in his honor.

As for the game, the Padres came out swinging against the Rockies. They got four straight hits in the first inning, but scored just twice. Jedd Gyorko was part of the fun with his first RBI single since signing his new five year contract.

The Padres led 2-0 but the Rockies chipped away at that lead. In the fifth, with the bases loaded they took the lead on an infield hit by Wilin Rosario off of pitcher Tim Stauffer's glove. All of the Rockies runs were charged to starter Robbie Erlin (1-1), who took the loss. The Rockies won it 3-2, ending the Padres two game winning streak.

Shortstop Everth Cabrera missed the game after tweaking his right knee on a diving play in Monday night's game. He hopes to play Wednesday.
